Handshake AI data partnerships, as used here, means Handshake's program for companies that license their business records to AI labs. It is separate from the Handshake job network that connects students and employers. It concerns your company's operating records, not anyone's personal data.

Who qualifies for Handshake AI data partnerships

Handshake AI says it is looking for companies with 20+ full-time employees and 3+ years in operation, and it names both. Its referral and license pages state that bar (read 2026-10-25); treat it as the bar to clear, not a guarantee of a fit.

Country is a field on Handshake AI's forms rather than a stated requirement. Its estimator offers USA, Canada, Europe and Other.

Topology Partners does not refer law firms, accounting firms, banks, defense contractors, schools, staffing firms or any company holding patient health data, regardless of a buyer's list. If you miss either Handshake AI bar, or sit in one of those groups, skip this program and look at the other buyers.

Which records and tools Handshake AI data partnerships license

Handshake AI licenses operational data from more than 1,000 sources, according to its license page. It names AutoCAD, Dropbox, Figma, Gmail, Google Drive, Outlook, Monday.com, NetSuite, Notion, Paychex, QuickBooks, ServiceTitan and Slack.

Its data partnerships page lists example records by industry. A few of them are shown below.

Handshake AI also lists legal and healthcare. Topology Partners does not refer law firms or companies holding patient health data, whatever Handshake AI's list says. Match your own systems against the named tools before you apply.

How much Handshake AI data partnerships pay a company

Handshake AI publishes payouts of “$100K to $4M+”, “depending on the data shared” (re-checked 2026-10-15). Its license page says any payout varies with the data sources, data volume and quality, its due diligence, and your acceptance of its licensing terms.

Handshake AI runs an estimator on its data partnerships page. The figures below are Handshake AI's own estimator, sampled Oct 15, 2026, with the country set to USA.

When sampled, the estimator took 20 to 200 employees and 3 to 20 years. It caps at 200 employees, so a 400-person company sees the 200-employee figure.

Handshake AI calls any estimate “indicative” and “not an offer to purchase your data.” These are Handshake AI's numbers, not a quote and not a Topology Partners estimate. Ask Handshake AI for a written figure before you compare it with any other buyer.

How the Handshake AI data partnership referral works

A Handshake AI referral is one web form, and Handshake AI says its team contacts the company within 1 to 2 days. The form asks for these fields.

• The referrer's name and email
• The company contact's name and email
• Company name, industry group and company size
• Estimated years in operation and country
• Company website (optional)

Handshake AI's referral page says it then scopes your tools and agrees terms with you. Its data partnerships page lists five steps, from a first conversation through scope and terms to delivery and payment.

With your written OK, I submit that form on the same day as any other buyer you approve. Handshake AI, not Topology Partners, scopes and prepares the records under its own contract with you. Topology Partners never receives or moves your data.

What Handshake AI pays Topology Partners for a data partnership referral

Handshake AI pays Topology Partners $10,000 once your data transfer is completed and accepted, according to its referral terms read 2026-10-24. Its public referral page puts it as “paid when their deal closes.”

You pay nothing. Handshake AI pays the referral fee separately, and nothing comes out of your contract. You can strike Handshake AI from your list at any point.

What to get in writing before you sign with Handshake AI

Handshake AI's own page names the topics to settle before you commit: approved scope, de-identification, who may receive the data, and how it may be used. Get each one, plus three more, into the signed contract.

• Scope and exclusions. List the systems, date ranges and record types included, and what sensitive material is left out.
• De-identification method. Handshake AI says all data is “scoped, de-identified, and confidential.” Get the method, who performs it, and whether you approve a sample.
• Recipients and use limits. Get the permitted uses, the term, and whether a lab may pass the records on.
• Deletion at term end. Handshake AI's pages do not mention deletion. Get an end date for every copy and written confirmation.
• Named-competitor exclusions. List by name any company that must never receive your records.
• Where end buyers are based. If it matters to you, we ask every buyer in writing; any that refuses comes off your list.

What Handshake AI does not publish about data partnerships

Handshake AI's public pages leave three referral and contract questions open.

• Attribution. Handshake AI does not say who is credited if your company also applied directly or was referred by someone else.
• What “deal closes” means. The referral page does not say whether that is signature or payment. The referral terms read 2026-10-24 tie the fee to an accepted transfer.
• Exclusivity. Handshake AI does not say whether a data partnership stops you licensing the same records to another buyer.
